New BBC TV show comes to Cockenzie
February 1st, 2023
Fans of local food and drink should look out for a treat coming to their TVs on Monday, February 6th, 2023 as a new series focusing on Scottish food and drink festivals pays a visit to fishmonger and curer James Dickson & Son in Cockenzie.
The show, Food Fest Scotland, is presented by Edith Bowman and Colin Murray, who rock up at food festivals across the country. It also features farmer Jim Smith and chef Julie Lin, who look in detail at how food is produced and supplied.
In the first episode, which goes out on BBC1 Scotland at 8.30pm on Monday, the presenters head to Peebles Show while Julie Lin explores mackerel, with a trip to the East Lothian coast to learn more about the fish from the experts, the Dickson family, who have sold and cured fish here for more than 100 years.
Later episodes will visit Stranraer, Anstruther, Glasgow and Nairn.
The series is part of the BBC’s Coast to Coast Food Fest event, which includes Food Fest shows from England, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as the Scottish programmes.
